Embedded Distributed Temperature Sensing Enabled Multistate Joint Observation of Smart Lithium-Ion Battery

Accurate monitoring of the internal statuses is highly valuable for management lithium-ion battery (LIB). This article proposes a thermal-model-based method multistate joint observation, enabled by novel smart design with an embedded and distributed temperature sensor. In particular, designed implanting fiber optical sensor internally externally. promises real-time measurement LIB surface high space resolution. Following this endeavor, low-order observer proposed to coestimate thermal parameters, heat generation rate, state charge, maximum capacity. Experimental results disclose that has space-resolved self-monitoring capability reproducibility. With new sensing data, capacity can be observed precisely in real time. The validates outperform commonly-used electrical-model-based regarding accuracy robustness aging.
